Pictures

One of the main reasons we chose the wedding photographer we did, (William Jordan), (besides his incredible talent), was his promise to turn over all his photographs to us for use as we please. This will allow us to go through all of the rolls he takes and post any and all pictures on the site at the conclusion of the wedding.

For now, we've posted pictures and descriptions of members of the wedding party below. Many of the Mealy party typically go by their nicknames more often than their actual names, so their nicknames are included as well.

The Wedding Party
Groomsmen

Big MoeKevin Mealy
Best Man
Brother of the Groom

Kevin, or Moe as he is affectionately known to most of my family, was the one and only person I would have ever considered a choice as my best man. He continually astounds me with his ways of looking at things a bit differently than most. Not enough good things could possibly be said about him on one web page: he is one of the smartest people I know, possesses an amazing sense of humor, and energizes anyone around him. I'm proud to call him my best man, excited to have him stand up with me at my wedding, and can't wait to be his best man. (Assuming, of course, he picks me for the job).

Dave TDavid Tashima
Groomsman
Brother of the Bride

David and I share many common interests: the opera, modern art, and a dislike of Sergio Garcia. He has the uncanny ability to fit a random movie quote into any conversation. He's also one of the smartest people I know, and one of the few doctors I know who regularly calls people 'dude' and can discuss, in length, the latest Final Fantasy for PS2.

Paul TPaul Tashima
Groomsman
Brother of the Bride

Paul is the only person I know that I could mention Princess Mononoke to and not be greeted with a blank stare. He's also probably the only person I know who could decide, out of the blue, to learn a new language /instrument / skill, and have mastered it by Friday. He also has the amazing ability to make me, Kara, and himself laugh at jokes that aren't funny, which is a rare gift indeed.

RaggedAndrew Ragozzino
Groomsman
Cousin of the Groom

Andrew, or Ragged as most of the family calls him, is one of the most genuine people I know. Some of my favorite memories of growing up come from visiting Indianapolis to hang out with my cousins there. Few people can make me laugh as much as Ragged, often at the most ridiculous events. He's the biggest kid trapped in a grownup body I know, and helps me to not take life to seriously. Darkness falls, me old chap.

PaceNick Mason
Groomsman
Cousin of the Groom

Nick, aka Pace, is the originator of most, if not all, of the nicknames which have become more commonplace than our actual names. Even at 8 years younger than me, Pace consistently impresses me with how intelligent he is, and comes up with the best games, usually involving me, Ragged, and some ridiculous rules. He also came up with Foben, though he won't admit to it.

JeffJeff Bennett
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom

Jeff is one of those people that you just expect to be famous one day, in one aspect or another. He pours his heart into things he loves, and thus ends up with amazing work. I had the distinct pleasure of being Jeff's roommate for 4 of my 5 years of college life. This also let me see how helpful he was to other people with their problems, regardless of his own. I've seen him spend many a late night trying to debug someone else's code for their project, sacrificing time he could be spending on his own project. One of the main things I'll miss about college is our late night drinking on the porch, arguing religion, politics, or belting out a Mr. Bigg tune, (to the delight of our neighbors).

AmyAmy Danford
Matron of Honor
Cousin of the Bride

I've always looked up to Amy. When I was younger, getting her stylish hand-me-downs was the best gift ever. She also took good care of me at UC and in New York - taking me to do laundry, and cooking delicious meals for me. She is so completely generous and capable of achieving anything. I appreciate everything she has done for me - I can't thank her enough for always being on my side.

BlairSarah Hempstead
Bridesmaid (technically "matron" but that sounds weird)
Sister of the Groom

Sarah (aka Blair) is a registered architect, associate of her company, mother, wife, and bridesmaid. And she's darn good at all of them! I thought that with all these responsibilities, she'd be too busy to do silly wedding stuff - nope! She amazes me with her support, and is always there when I need her. I'm so lucky that my sister-in-law will be someone that I would choose as a friend.

TexLaura Welty
Bridesmaid (technically "matron")
Sister of the Groom

Laura (aka Tex) is such a nice, easy-to-get-along-with person. She always makes me feel like I'm already part of the family, and I really appreciate that. She has a knack for making everyone feel happy and welcomed. I really enjoy her company and I'm glad I have gotten to hang out with her more, now that we live in Indy. I'm secretly looking forward to when school starts because that means we can email each other again.

GretGretchen Kay
Bridesmaid
Friend of the Bride

When I was growing up, the only thing that mattered was having Gretchen by my side. Our mothers could put us through anything - tennis, ballet, Indian Princesses, Creative Space Camp, swim team (ha!), Young Authors - as long as we were together. Even though Gret moved after fourth grade, I still felt close to her. It was so fun visiting each other when I co-opped in New York and Boston. Now that she is going to vet school in Michigan, I hope that we can see each other more often. It will be absolutely perfect having Gret stand up for me at my wedding.

KatieKatie Cunningham
Junior Bridesmaid
Cousin of the Bride

Katie is my younger cousin. I love seeing her grow up (she's almost taller than me!) and I wish we lived closer to each other. She is very smart, and considerate of others. I had so much fun hanging out with her when I was visiting. She is such a wonderful gal and I'm very honored that she wanted to be one of my bridesmaids.

KristinKristen Cunningham
Flower Girl
Cousin of the Bride

The best way to describe Kristen is with the picture of my brothers, Katie, Kristen, and me doing the showy-dance pose. She had a vision and told us exactly what to do. She is very energetic, funny, and imaginative. I know she is going to be the perfect flower girl!
